PolyPlus HTP ® is strong 12.5 gauge steel wire completely encased in our proprietary HTP ® polymer to protect your horses from cuts and abrasions. The total outside diameter is 5/16". It is strung in high-tensile fashion on your own fence posts, but offers huge advantages over traditional high tensile. It has a break strength of 1400lbs! Beyond the significant increase in your horses’ safety, the HTP ® covering means it won’t rust, stretch or fade. PolyPlus HTP ® carries a 20 year limited warranty.

What is the difference between mechanically bonded & molecularly bonded fence? Mechanical bonding means that the wire and polymer are joined during the manufacturing process. As the polymer is cooled, it shrinks tightly around the wires. This creates a natural link between wire and polymer, while allowing each to expand and contract in temperature changes without pulling and degrading the polymer. Because of this process, a mechanically bonded fence will last much longer than a molecularly bonded fence. A molecular bond occurs when a glue is used to fuse the wire and polymer together. When temperature changes occur between the molecularly bonded wire and polymer, the wire will pull and weaken or tear the polymer. Be sure to ask your manufacturer which process they use. CENTAUR HTP, CENFLEX, HOTRAIL, WHITELIGHTNING, AND POLYPLUS ARE ALL MECHANICAL BONDED. Don’t be fooled by other cheaper manufactures. You get what you pay for!
